Title: Grey Zone Opportunistic Routing
Speaker: Lynne Salameh, UCL CS
Time: 14:00, Tuesday 6th December 2011
Venue: MPEB 6.12

Abstract: Chaotic wireless networks have become pervasive in our world today, giving rise to so called Grey Zones: regions of low connectivity characterized by low or variable SINRs. In light of the extremely high packet loss probabilities encountered in the Grey Zone, this talk will discuss several proposed techniques for increasing throughput and reliability in these regions. These techniques will target the physical and link layers and use suitable error correction codes to recover corrupted data. They will also employ opportunistic routing schemes to mitigate Grey Zone effects.
