Imagine being able to draw your network, pushing a button to configure and launch, then in minutes being able to log-in as if you were sitting in front of the real thing.<br>
<br>
The ever-increasing demand to provide new services on the network, or make changes to the live environment is driving the need to design, test and deploy quickly, efficiently and consistently. Testing and verifying network services in topologies at scale is
a challenge, particularly when lab equipment requires the more power, space and cooling – and there’s never enough equipment for all of the people who want to use it!

<br>
Network virtualisation technologies enable us to provide a testing & development environment in which users can create high fidelity models of their networks. The same platform can be used for network change validation, hands-on training and education as well
as network application development. With the ability to test and verify potential changes before they are applied to the live network, the risk of production-affecting errors can also be reduced.
<br>
<br>
In his talk, Joel Obstfeld will look at network virtualisation technologies, from the virtual machines through to the orchestration layers and show how a complex environment such as your production network can be modelled in the virtual world.<br>
<br>
<b>Presenter<br>
<br>
Joel Obstfeld</b> is a Director within <b>Cisco's Engineering Chief Architects office</b>. His areas of focus include the development of virtualised network environments, as well as collaborative research and development, engaging with both commercial and academic
partners.<br>
<br>
Closing date for bookings is 12:00 noon on 16 September 2013. No more bookings will be taken after this date.<br>

For overseas delegates who wish to attend the event please note that BCS do not issue invitation letters.<br>

There will be a full buffet with wine after the event and an opportunity for informal chat and networking.

</b>In the event of cancellation the delegates will be told well in advance. No refunds will be given after 11 September 2013 but name substitutions will be accepted.<br>
