[Sumover-tech] RAT - artifacts in sound output

Hi Piers, hi Jason,

thanks a lot for your quick feedback. I did some further
investigations and Jason, I'm experiencing the same in my setup
here. Here a little more detailed results of the things I tried:

- Realtek ALC1200 chip -
OSS: Realtek ALC1200: 11/22/44 ok, 32/48kHz noise, 16kHz small noise, 8kHz really annoying breaks/noise
Alsa 1: HDA Intel: 8/11/16/22/32/44/48 all work fine
Alsa default: HDA Intel: annoying noise on all sample rates (though with slightly different patterns each)

Only tested a few of the settings above on a netbook with a Realtek ALC272 (HDA Intel, too),
but seems to be the same there.

Misc issues:
- When having selected "Alsa default: HDA Intel", 11kHz, 22kHz or 44kHz
  then I'm not able to switch to "Alsa 1: HDA Intel". 48kHz, 32kHz, 16kHz, 8kHz work fine
  and once having successfully switched to "Alsa 1: HDA Intel, then I can also select 11/22/44kHz
- When starting the Tone Test, not the currently selected settings are tested, instead I
  have to hit "Apply" first and open up the same window again (irritated me a little first because
  I expected the current settings being tested and actually thought all settings might be broken
  in the beginning)
- When opening a file for play, a double-click on that one results in an error. Selecting it with
  one click and then hitting "Open" works though. Crash log:
  -----
  invalid command name "tkButtonInvoke"
  invalid command name "tkButtonInvoke"
      while executing
  "tkButtonInvoke $as_ok($w)"
      invoked from within
  "if {$value == ".."} {
                  catch {
                          set as_cwd($w) [asUpdir $as_cwd($w)]
                          cd $as_cwd($w)
                  }
                  asFilter $w
      } elseif [string match "?:" $value] {
  ..."
      (procedure "asOpenFile" line 6)
      invoked from within
  "asOpenFile [asRootName .playfilebox.main.lbf.list] [.playfilebox.main.lbf.list get active]"
      (command bound to event)

Hope these pieces of information help a little in debugging the issue.
If you need any further information, please let me know.

Also, would you prefer that I open some tickets for these issues on the trac?

Cheers, Linus
