Linus

Not sure if this is related, but I run "rat" version 4.0.01 on a number of Fedora 10 - 13 Linux systems.

I have noticed that if I used the default ALSA Default: device, I have some audio artefacts, yet if I use ALSA 1: the artefacts disappear.

Example:

ALSA default: Chat 150 - causes audio artefacts

ALSA 1: Chat 150 - audio quality fine

Not sure if this is the issue or not, but you could try using the different devices to see if it helps.

Cheers,
Jason.

Subject: [Sumover-tech] RAT - artifacts in sound output

Hi!

I gave the trunk version 4557 of RAT with rev. 4829 of common a
try today. It already works pretty much as expected, the variety
of codecs and the multicasting support is awesome!

However, there always is an annoying noise/artificats in the sound
output. Both over LAN or also already in the Tone Test. I'm using
alsa and a current Debian unstable with a 2.6.32 kernel.

I'm not an audio expert, so any (obvious) feedback about the cause
appretiated :).

Cheers, Linus
